All applicants must be 18 years of age by 1st Aug 2021. In addition, accepted applicants must own or have access to a Paypal account in order to receive contributor compensation (if we meet our sales goals).

It is required for all applicants to have an online visual portfolio (Google drive, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, etc) with at least 5 pieces of work (art or fic). At least one BnHA piece must be included in your portfolio. In case you don't have a published piece, for writers, we will accept drabbles, short stories (ie 500 words), or twitter thread/s; while for artists & merch artists, worked out sketches are accepted.

Applicants must ensure that the submitted links are accessible to the moderators [💡tip: go incognito mode in your browser to test if the link is publicly accessible]. The moderators will not be responsible to contact applicants for broken / inaccessible links.

All submissions must be the applicants’ own work. NSFW samples are permitted however no explicit content will be allowed. Please list any and all relevant tags/trigger warnings when filling out the application form. If in doubt whether the sample is explicit, err on the side of caution.

Previous zine experience is not required; contributors will be chosen based on skill and how well their submitted pieces fit the theme of the zine.

Writers must submit three (3) of their best works. These are the pieces that will be assessed by the moderators so please choose pieces that best represent your style.

Each piece must be at least 1K in length but no more than 2K (a buffer of 100 words will be permitted).

Writers may submit excerpts from longer works but the submitted piece/s must have a clear starting and ending point such that plot is discernible without needing any other or additional context.

At least one of the pieces must be a complete work (not an excerpt).

It is encouraged to submit Gen (non-ship) piece/s and include samples featuring BnHA characters, although both of these are not required.

Writers' pieces will be assessed based on a variety of factors including grammar, pacing, flows, characterization, and the ability to tell a story within a defined word count (ie 2K-3K).

Artists must submit three (3) of their best works. These are the pieces that will be assessed by the moderators so please choose pieces that best represent your style.

All submitted pieces must be a completed artwork with full coloring and at least one must include a background.

Traditional samples are welcome and should be scanned in high resolution (min 300 dpi).

It is encouraged to include samples featuring BnHA characters, although this is not required.

Artists’ pieces will be assessed based on a variety of factors (including anatomy, composition, perspective, lighting, shading, posing, and background if applicable) as well as how well the artist’s style will work with our chosen theme.

Merch Artists must submit three (3) of their best works. These are the pieces that will be assessed by the moderators so please choose pieces

All submitted pieces must be a completed artwork with full coloring; it is highly encouraged to submit different types of merch samples (ie sticker sheet, charm, prints, etc).

Merch illustrations from previous projects are welcome. Photos of actual merch are also accepted -- kindly ensure that the submitted photo clearly shows the full merch illustration.

It is encouraged to include samples featuring BnHA characters although this is not required.

Merch Artists’ pieces will be assessed based on a variety of factors such as anatomy, color usage, composition, perspective, shading, and posing. We will also look at the relevance of the submitted pieces to our planned merch offerings.

This is a for-profit/charity project. All mods and contributors will automatically receive the digital copy of the zine plus any and all digital merch.

In addition, if sales goals are met, all mods and contributors may opt to receive a) physical copy of zine and merch including all stretch goals; OR b) equal share of the profits OR donate it to a charity of choice; and where possible both a and b.

We will be looking to accept 10 writers, 20 page artists, and 3 merch artists.

Accepted writers will be asked to create a story with a max word count of 2K words.

Page artists may choose to work on a) spread artwork (across two pages); b) two (2) single-paged artworks; or c) several small illustrations across 3-4 pages.

Merch artists will be asked to create a design for two to three merch pieces.

The zine dimension is B5 (19 x 25 cm or 7.48 x 9.84 in), perfect-bound, with soft-cover, and estimated to be about 120 pages.

Yes, with exceptions of areas where shipping is not available due to Covid-19 restrictions, and the UK, due to VAT. We will do our best to facilitate group orders where we can.

This is a for-profit/charity project and all contributors will receive the digital copy of zine and merch.

If sales goals are met, contributors will have the the option to either 1) receive the physical copy of the zine and/or merch including shipping, OR 2) have an equal share in the profit OR donate it to a charity of choice which will be decided on by everyone. If possible, we will we will do both 1 & 2.

If it is not possible to provide the physical copy of the zine or merch, contributors will have the option to purchase any of the items at production cost.

The zine and all merch will have a rating of SFW; however, some content depending on how the myth or legend is portrayed may contain mature themes, which according to AO3's rating system means "the content contains adult themes that aren't as graphic as explicit-rated content". There will however be no explicit content, sexual or otherwise, in our zine or any of our merch offerings.

Open to all writers and artists – no skill-level required to join!

Two winners, one writer and one artist, will receive our full digital bundle and their winning entries will be included in our side zine.

Contest will run from 15th Sep to 15th Oct, and winners will be announced no later than 31st Oct.

All entries must be newly created works that have not been posted or published previously in any social media platform. WIPs, old sketches, or new chapter to an existing published/posted work are accepted.

Fic entries must be a completed story between 1,000 to 1,500 words in length while Art entries must be fully colored (bg is optional) with at least 750px by 1125px (width x height) in dimension and a minimum resolution of 125dpi.

All entries must comply with the myths and legends theme and must have an SFW rating. Explicit sexual content, gore, and violence are not allowed. Character death is accepted but should not be the main focus of the work.

Any character/s from BnHA may be used in the entry, and all entries must be Gen in nature – no ships are allowed.

Only one entry per participant is allowed.

Deadline to submit an entry is on 15th Oct (form will close at 11:59 PM EST)
